Meals. In general the holiday is organised on a B&B basis. The exception to this is the night in the refuge where dinner, breakfast and picnic are included. Information as to the best places to eat in the villages concerned will be provided and if required we are on hand to organise group meals.

The walking on this trek is strenuous rather than difficult; there is no scrambling involved but in this mountainous area the kilometres feel more like miles, it is likely to be hot and you will need to be at least averagely fit to enjoy it. The walks in some cases exceed 20km in distance and the height gain/loss will vary between 800 and 1500metres. See itinerary.

Refugio Poqueira

refugio Poqueira - click for full imageThe refuge is a youth-hostel-like establishment that we use on night 2. Staying here gives more chance of arriving at the peak of Mulhacén on the following day in a more leisurely way, while still having time to take in the beauty.
All meals are provided at the refuge which has sleeping platforms with mattresses, blankets and disposable sheet bags, provided in unisex dormitories. If you prefer you can bring your own sheet /sleeping bag. The washrooms are also unisex, there are showers but hot water is not guaranteed.
