Our careful service is borne out of long experience of organising groups and made possible by being on the spot. We remain in the background in the case of non-guided holidays ready to solve unexpected problems or emergencies.

Our in depth knowledge of the area has been gained during our life here since 1994, during which time we have written the definitive walking guide to the Alpujarra.

A local organiser takes the pressure off you as organiser and improves the group dynamic by removing intra-group stresses. In other words we take any hassle, and you can sit back.

A choice of activities. Your group may not be made up entirely of active walkers; may be, some are budding artists or would simply like to relax or discover the cultural aspect of the area. For example, we can offer sketching and painting activities so that partners can walk or paint during the day as if on separate holidays but be together in the evening in the same accommodation, sharing the day's experiences.

We at walkAlpujarra are experienced in the arranging, managing, and leading of group walking and/or painting holidays.

It is difficult enough for you as organiser to liaise with your group and arrive at a consensus, so we offer to relieve you of all the worries concerning local practicalities. Our long established relationship with hoteliers, transport companies, restaurants, etc. will ensure that you get the best, and that everything runs like clockwork to give a relaxed holiday to all.

In helping you to design your holiday we will be able to advise on or arrange:

• Spanish airport transfers by private or public bus or car hire.
• Accommodation to suit your tastes and budget
• Locations which suit the type of walking you are happy with.
• Groups usually benefit by being led but if you prefer that we help organise and stay in the background then that too is a possibility; we have a large stock of printed information that can be provided to enable you to explore on your own with more security.
• Where painting is the prime interest you can be confident of good advice, for all levels of ability, from Jeni, a professional artist and teacher who believes in encouraging an artist's own direction with friendly advice and encouragement. You will be able to choose your own mix of tutoring, sketching, exploring.
• Your holiday could be fixed centre or moving on.
• It could include city visits to the major Andalucian cities, perhaps with guided walking for various days in a Natural park area nearest to each city.
